Brainstorm blog #2

With this brainstorm I wanted to focus on my day to day life. Record different sounds from different classes. There will be sounds from my studio, the sounds of the sanders turning on, the sounds of the driller and people working in the studio. Some of them are from my lecture class, the sounds of my professor teaching astronomy. Working at Norlin and collecting the sounds of people walking by, turning off the light when it’s time to close the library. I don’t know how those will go together but I’ll try to collect more sounds.

My Artist Statement

With Greg Touring Earth With Red I wanted to showcase our Environmental Issue. I chose to have a Red Panda as a tour guide since it’s an endangered species. I have seen so many tourism ads and everyone of them only shows the good part of it while hiding the ugly part of it. With this zine I want to show the impact we have on our environment. Most of the environmental issues we have are caused by humans. I wanted to show what deforestation does to the spices that live there causing them to find a new home or to die off. It’s also causing the earth to get warmer which causes the arctic to melt leaving polar bears to go stranded and starve to death. As the ocean gets warmer it also gets more acidic, making it hard for the marine species to grow their shells and exoskeletons making them weak and die off faster. With this tour I wanted to show the environmental issues we are facing and will be facing more if we don’t do something about it. More places around the world are having issues and will get worse if we don’t make a change.
